Rain Clouds and Burp Cloths

Tonight was craft night at our house, which means Livy and I were completely entertained with scissors, glue and fabric, while Andrew had time to catch up on his “manly blogs”.

First things first, for obvious reasons, we needed to make a rain cloud:

Then, it was time for a shape collage:

After those were done and Livy went to bed, it was my turn to try my hand at something crafty.  I realized today that baby boy will be here sooner than I think!  It’s time to get to work on a few necessities for him.

Tonight, I chose to make burp cloths.  After I made my pattern and got on a roll, these went quickly, but I still only had time to finish two.  When I sit down to these again, I’ll be able to whip out several more in no time so I have a nice stash ready to go.

If any of you out in bloggerville would like to know how I made these, just let me know!  (A set of four would make an inexpensive and heart-felt shower gift.)

For the top, I used the adorable monkey flannel that you see.  The underneath side is plain white flannel and sandwiched in the middle is a layer of all-natural cotton batting.  The edges are frayed and will look better and better with each washing.

Let me know if you want more detailed instructions.  🙂
